Michael Misa scored at 1:40 of overtime, and the San Jose Sharks rallied for a 2-1 win against the visiting Winnipeg Jets on Sunday.

Misa carried the puck up the middle, split the defense and veered to his left before putting a wrist shot over Connor Hellebuyck’s blocker short side.

Will Smith also scored, and Alex Nedeljkovic made 27 saves for the Sharks, who have won two straight after a five-game skid.

Morgan Barron scored, and Hellebuyck made 31 saves for the Jets, who have lost four of five (1-1-3).

After struggling to generate in the second period, San Jose came out with jump in the third. Hellebuyck denied Philipp Kurashev on a breakaway 43 seconds into the frame and then moments later, Macklin Celebrini missed high on a chance from the left circle.

Smith tied it 1-1 at 1:47. Celebrini sent a pass up the left wall to Collin Graf in the neutral zone. Graf collected it to create a 2-on-1 with Smith, holding it until firing a shot on Hellebuyck from low in the left circle. Hellebuyck made the save, but the rebound bounced in the air to the other side, and Smith batted it in.

Seconds after Barclay Goodrow had a chance for San Jose from the right circle, Barron gave Winnipeg a 1-0 lead off the rush. Tanner Pearson dished a pass from the defensive blue line to Barron in the neutral zone, and Barron carried it to the left faceoff dot before wiring a wrist shot into the top corner on the far side at 2:44 of the first period.

The Sharks pushed the rest of the frame and had opportunities to equalize on a pair of power plays midway through the period, but managed just two shots on goal with the man advantage. They outshot the Jets 14-8 and built up a 36-14 advantage in shot attempts after 20 minutes.

The visitors picked up their game in the second period, outshooting San Jose 9-4 in the frame, with the hosts limited to two shots for nearly 17 minutes.
