CF Montreal will be in search of good fortune as they travel to New England to face the Revolution at Foxborough, Mass., while in search of their second victory of the season.

Montreal (1-4-0, 3 points) has dropped back-to-back matches following its first victory of the season — a 3-0 decision over the New York Red Bulls — on March 8.

“I think the luck hasn’t been on our side,” said midfielder Olger Escobar, who has made four appearances this season. “We’ve had a couple of games where we were the better team, and we played better, and we deserved the win. But unluckily, things didn’t go our way.”

German forward Prince Owusu leads Montreal with four goals in five matches, while Wiki Carmona has five goal contributions (three goals, two assists).

Montreal and New England split a pair of matches last season, each winning on the road.

New England (1-3-0, 3 points), which opens a three-match homestand on Saturday, is 9-6-2 all time at home against Montreal.

The Revolution recognize that Montreal’s record does not match their level of play.

“One team that has, I would say, a very unique style, especially when they defend — every team challenges you in different ways — but they have this unique challenge the way that they defend,” said Revolution coach Marko Mitrovic.

“I expect one very long game — 90 minutes — where we will have to have focus on the highest possible level.”

Defender Brayan Ceballos leads New England with two goals this season.

New England will look to remain undefeated at home. The Revolution won their only other home match by a score of 6-1 over FC Cincinnati on March 15.

Saturday is the first of two matches between Montreal and New England. The two sides will reconvene north of the border on Aug. 1.
