One month after he was optioned to the minor leagues, Otto Kemp was called back to the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday while fellow infielder/outfielder Felix Reyes was sent down to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Kemp, 26, was 2-for-20 for the Phillies this season before being optioned. In 24 games at Triple-A, he hit .262 with three home runs and 21 RBIs.
Over parts of two seasons with the Phillies, after making his major league debut last season, Kemp is a .221 hitter with eight home runs and 22 RBIs in 72 games.
Reyes, 25, became the sixth Phillies player to hit a home run in his first major-league plate appearance on April 18. Over 12 major league games, Reyes batted .158 with one home run and two RBIs.
