Eric Haase hit a grand slam and Jung Hoo Lee had four hits to extend the longest current hitting streak in the major leagues to 12 games as the visiting San Francisco Giants hung on for a 12-9 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday.

Casey Schmitt homered and Bryce Eldridge and Matt Chapman each had three hits. Luis Arraez, Drew Gilbert, Willy Adames and Schmitt had two hits as San Francisco piled up 20 hits to salvage a split in the four-game series.

Jackson Chourio hit two home runs, drove in four and scored four times while David Hamilton also homered for Milwaukee.

Schmitt homered on the first pitch of the game, and after Arraez singled with one out, Adames struck out. But the Giants answered with three straight two-out hits. Lee singled, Eldridge’s RBI single scored Arraez and Chapman doubled home Lee to give the Giants a 3-0 lead.

William Contreras’ sacrifice fly in the first plated Chourio to get the Brewers on the board.

In the third, Adames hit a leadoff double and scored one batter later on Lee’s double. After an Eldridge walk, Chapman’s grounder up the middle knocked in Lee.

Haase struck out, but Gilbert flared a single to left field to load the bases and end Milwaukee starter Coleman Crow’s outing. Schmitt’s sacrifice fly put San Francisco up 6-1.

Milwaukee pulled within 6-3 on Chourio’s two-run homer in the fifth.

The Giants opened the seventh with six straight hits and took a 12-3 lead. Lee, Eldridge and Chapman singled and scored on Haase’s grand slam to center.

Later, with one out, Arraez added a sacrifice fly and Adames an RBI single.

Chourio hit a two-run homer in the seventh, and the Brewers trailed 12-5. Hamilton hit a solo shot in the eighth.

In the ninth, Blake Perkins coaxed an RBI walk, Sal Frelick scored Gary Sanchez on a fielder’s choice and Luis Rengifo had an RBI single. But Hamilton flied out to the warning track with two runners on to end it.

Crow (0-1) surrendered six runs on nine hits, walked two and struck out two in 2 1/3 innings. Sam Hentges (1-0) picked up the win with two-thirds of a scoreless inning and Caleb Kilian earned his fourth save.

Milwaukee relievers DL Hall and Grant Anderson both exited with apparent injuries.
