Zach Neto delivered a tie-breaking home run in the top of the ninth for the Los Angeles Angels, who rallied for a 9-7 win against the host Athletics on Sunday.

With Jose Siri on, Neto launched his 17th homer of the season over the left field wall against Elvis Alvarado (3-2) to put Los Angeles ahead 9-7.

Angels reliever Chase Silseth (2-1) worked a scoreless eighth to earn the win and help his team split the four-game series. Starting pitcher Reid Detmers allowed five runs on six hits in six innings.

Up one in the seventh, Nick Kurtz belted a fastball 437 feet for a two-run shot off reliever Brent Suter that gave the A’s a 7-4 advantage.

Denzer Guzman pulled the Angels even in the eighth with a three-run blast to center off Hogan Harris, marking Guzman’s third straight game with a home run.

Kurtz put the hosts up 5-3 in the fourth. Zack Gelof connected for a two-out double, and Kurtz drove him in with a single to right field.

Los Angeles narrowed it to 5-4 in the fifth. Siri singled, stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch with Jo Adell at the plate and scored on another wild pitch to Adell.

Detmers struggled in the first inning and the Athletics took advantage.

After Gelof extended his hit streak to 24 games with a lead-off single, 12 of Detmers’ next 13 pitches were out of the zone. He loaded the bases with consecutive walks to Kurtz and Jacob Wilson and then walked Tyler Soderstrom, bringing in Gelof.

Kurtz scored on Jonah Heim’s sacrifice fly, and Joey Meneses banked a single to left that drove in Wilson. Henry Bolte added a single to right that scored Soderstrom to push it to 4-0.

The Angels wasted little time in responding.

Nolan Schanuel and Guzman each singled to center to open the second. Then, with one out, Donovan Walton put a sinker over the fence in right field to pull the Angels within one.

Athletics starter Jack Perkins allowed four runs on four hits with two walks and struck out eight in five innings.
