The Seattle Mariners activated outfielder Randy Arozarena from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday’s road game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Arozarena has been sidelined with a left hamstring strain since being injured against the Washington Nationals on June 12. He was placed on the IL June 16, retroactive to June 13.
Arozarena, 31, is batting .291 with seven homers, 33 RBIs and 19 steals in 71 games this season. He played in each Seattle game prior to the injury.
Arozarena, a two-time All-Star, was acquired by the Mariners from the Tampa Bay Rays in July 2024. He was American League Rookie of the Year in 2021 after breaking on to the scene with 10 homers during the 2020 postseason. He hit three in the World Series when the Rays fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Through 872 games, he has 125 homers, 423 RBIs and 150 steals to go with a .254 average with the St. Louis Cardinals (2019), Rays (2020-24) and Mariners.
Seattle optioned outfielder Connor Joe to Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move. Joe is batting .179 with one home run and three RBIs in 21 games for the Mariners.
Joe, 33, has a .238 average with 36 homers and 148 RBIs in 501 games with six teams.
