WNBA players earned a financial windfall thanks to their new collective bargaining agreement with the league, and a select few individuals are set to earn even more extra dough this weekend.

The WNBAPA is set to provide an additional $170,000 in prize money to the standouts at this weekend’s 3-point Contest and Shooting Stars Challenge during All-Star festivities in Chicago, according to a Front Office Sports report on Thursday.

That amount is an increase from last season’s $115,000 distributed and comes via a sponsorship agreement with Aflac.

The distribution model is also changing, as non-winners of each event will receive prize money, a change from previous seasons. Each participant receives $10,000, and the winner collects an additional $20,000 for $30,000 total. At the 3-Point Contest, including the union’s additional prize money, the first-place champion will earn $70,000, while second place will net $40,000 and third place will take home $25,000.

A similar structure exists for the Shooting Stars Challenge, with a split of a total amount of $85,000 (half of the additional $170,000 in prize money).

Competing in the 3-Point Contest on Friday night at Wintrust Arena will be All-Stars Marina Mabrey and Rhyne Howard, in addition to 2026 No. 1 draft pick Azzi Fudd, Bridget Carleton, Natisha Hiedeman and Janelle Salaun.

Those seeking prize money in the Shooting Stars Challenge include Dallas/Detroit’s Deanna Nolan and Jessica Shepard, Rebekkah Brunson and Courtney Williams of Minnesota, Seattle’s Lauren Jackson and Flau’jae Johnson, and Elena Delle Donne and Shakira Austin of Washington.

The 2026 WNBA All-Star Game is Saturday at United Center.
