The Cincinnati Reds claimed right-handed pitchers Ron Marinaccio and Chase Selesky off waivers on Thursday.

Solesky, a rookie recently designated for assignment by the Tampa Bay Rays, was optioned to Triple-A Louisville. The Reds also transferred outfielder Blake Dunn (right elbow sprain) from the 10- to the 60-day injured list.

Marinaccio had been designated for assignment by the Pittsburgh Pirates, who had acquired him on July 23 from the San Diego Padres for $500,000 in international signing bonus pool space.

The 31-year-old last pitched for the Pirates on Sunday, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk with two strikeouts in two innings in a 10-2 loss at Cincinnati.

Marinaccio opened the season with San Diego and went 1-0 with a 4.79 ERA, 18 walks and 38 strikeouts in 47 innings over 33 relief appearances.

For his career, Marinaccio is 7-5 with two saves and a 3.60 ERA in 145 relief appearances for the New York Yankees (2022-24), Padres (2025-26) and Pirates (2026).

Solesky, 28, appeared in one game for Tampa Bay, making his major league debut on May 18 and allowing two runs on six hits and one walk with four strikeouts in three innings in a 16-6 home win over the Baltimore Orioles.
