Aroldis Chapman became the ninth pitcher in major league history to record 400 career saves, closing out the Boston Red Sox’s 3-1 victory over the host Baltimore Orioles on Sunday to complete a four-game sweep.

Eli White’s three-run home run was one of Boston’s four hits, but it was more than enough for Red Sox starter Payton Tolle, who struck out 12 in six sharp innings of one-run ball.

Erik Miller, Jovani Moran and Chapman each threw an inning in relief to complete a five-hitter that included 17 strikeouts.

Tolle (9-6), who has won his last five decisions, held the Orioles (69-75) to four hits without a walk. Chapman’s third save of the series came with a pair of strikeouts in the ninth and gave him 33 saves for the season.

The Red Sox (79-65) won the season series 9-4 over Baltimore, which has lost six in a row overall.

White’s sixth homer of the season went to left field with two outs in the second, extending his hitting streak to six. He also singled in the ninth to become the team’s only player with more than one hit.

Pete Alonso had two singles for the Orioles, who were shut out Friday and Saturday and scored only six runs in the series. On Sunday, they stranded only three runners, including Alonso at second base when the game ended.

Baltimore starter Kyle Bradish (7-13) took the loss without giving up an earned run across four innings. He hasn’t recorded a victory since July 22 at Boston.

Four Orioles relievers combined on five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk.

Boston’s three-run second was aided by shortstop Gunnar Henderson’s two-out error, though Bradish’s two walks in the frame also hurt his cause.

The Orioles took a brief 1-0 lead when Christian Encarnacion-Strand’s two-out double in the first knocked in Coby Mayo.
