Dor Turgeman had a goal and an assist and Matt Turner made five saves to lead the visiting New England Revolution to a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Fire on Sunday afternoon.

Peyton Miller also scored a goal for New England (13-8-4, 43 points), which took over sole possession of third place in the Eastern Conference with the win. It was the final game of a four-game road stretch for the Revolution, who came away nine of a possible 12 points (3-1-0) on the trip.

Maren Haile-Selassie scored a goal, his fifth in five games, for Chicago (11-7-6, 39 points), which had a seven-match unbeaten streak snapped.

New England took a 1-0 lead in the 39th minute on Turgeman’s breakaway goal. Jackson Yueill set the score up with a long pass from his own penalty box to Turgeman on the other side of the midfield line. Turgeman outdueled defender Samual Rogers for the ball and then broke in and booted a right-footed shot from the middle of the box inside the left corner for his seventh goal.

Miller made it 2-0 early in the second half with another fast-break goal. Turgeman fielded another long Yueill pass on the left wing, broke in and crossed a pass to Miller, who put in a left-footed tap-in by the far right post for his fifth goal.

Chicago cut the lead to 2-1 in the 62nd minute on Haile-Selassie’s left-footed shot from the top of the penalty box off a Robin Lod setup, his eighth goal.

The Fire nearly tied it twice in the final minutes on headers by Robert Lewandowski. The first came in the 89th minute off a curling cross from the right wing by Philip Zinckernagel into the middle of the box that Turner made a diving grab on by the bottom-left corner. The second, on a pass from Andrew Gutman in the sixth minute of stoppage time, sailed just wide of the left post.
