Mookie Betts tied a season high with four hits, Tommy Edman delivered a go-ahead two-run single and the Los Angeles Dodgers stayed within two games of the best record in the National League with a 10-4 victory over the visiting San Francisco Giants on Saturday.

Betts has 10 hits over his past three games, including seven in the past two while operating out of the leadoff spot in place of an injured Shohei Ohtani. Will Smith hit a home run as the Dodgers (95-60) won for the fifth time in six games and improved to 13-3 since Sept. 3.

Tarik Skubal (11-7) gave up four runs on eight hits over five innings with three strikeouts. The left-hander is now 4-2 with a 2.85 ERA in nine starts for Los Angeles after a trade from the Detroit Tigers on Aug. 2.

Victor Bericoto hit a home run among his two hits for the Giants (64-91) while Yunior Marte (0-1) gave up six runs on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings in his fourth career appearance and second start.

San Francisco lost for the sixth time in its past eight games in its next-to-last road game of the season.

Max Muncy had an RBI double in the first inning to score Betts as the Dodgers started a stretch in which they scored in each of the first six innings. Betts had an RBI single in the second.

The Giants tied the score in the third on Bericoto’s fifth home run over his first 35 career games.

Los Angeles went back on top 3-2 in the third on Smith’s leadoff home run. Both teams scored in the fourth, with San Francisco tying the score 4-4 in the fifth on a double from Jung Hoo Lee.

Edman’s two-run single in the fifth gave the Dodgers the lead for good and they added another in the inning for a 7-4 lead on a Miguel Rojas single.

In the sixth, Smith added an RBI single, while rookie Josue De Paula followed with a two-run single for a 10-4 advantage.

Los Angeles has a 5-4 advantage in the season series with four games still remaining between the teams.

Smith went 3-for-5 as the Dodgers collected 15 hits.

Lee went 2-for-4 for the Giants and drove in a run. The Giants had two hits in a dozen at-bats with runners in scoring position.
