Marc Gatcomb scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period and Adin Hill made 17 saves to lead the visiting Vegas Golden Knights to a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night.

Mitch Marner and Victor Olofsson also scored goals for Vegas, which improved to 22-4-3 all-time against the Canucks. It was the eighth consecutive win over the Canucks for the Golden Knights since a 4-3 loss on April 8, 2024.

Hill, making his first start for Vegas since April 9 of last season, extended his personal win streak against Vancouver to five straight games.

Paul Cotter and Jonathan Lekkerimaki scored goals for Vancouver, which was playing the second game of a back-to-back that began with a 4-1 victory over Calgary on Saturday. Kevin Lankinen stopped 25 of 28 shots for the Canucks.

Vancouver took a 1-0 lead at the 18:52 mark of the first period on a power-play goal by Cotter, who redirected a seam pass from Filip Hronek from the left point inside the right post for his team-leading fourth goal.

Vegas tied it midway through the second period on Marner’s wrist shot from the slot into the top left corner. It was the first goal of the season for Marner, who was the top scorer in the Stanley Cup playoffs last spring with 29 points.

The Golden Knights then took a 2-1 lead on a power-play goal by Olofsson, who roofed in a rebound of a Mark Stone shot from the bottom of the right circle.

The Canucks tied it at the 17:54 mark on a sharp-angle shot by Lekkerimaki from the bottom of the right circle past Hill’s blocker side, but Vegas regained the lead just 34 seconds later when Gatcomb jammed in a cross-crease pass from Braeden Bowman inside the right post for what proved to be the game-winner.

Vancouver pulled Lankinen for an extra attacker with 2:15 remaining and Hronek blocked Jack Eichel’s shot at an empty net that would have sealed it a few seconds later. The Canucks, outshot 28-20 in the contest, had one good scoring chance, a shot by Elias Pettersson from the bottom of the left circle with two seconds left that hit the left post.
