Australian Mathew Goggin carded a tournament-record 10-under-par 62 to take a one-stroke lead after two rounds of the Constellation Furyk & Friends on Saturday in Palm Coast, Fla.

Goggin was one of three players to qualify for the event by posting a 5-under 67 at TPC Sawgrass on Tuesday. He opened with a 66 on Friday and made five birdies on the outward and inward halves to record his best-ever 18-hole round on the PGA Tour Champions. He bettered the tournament record of 63, which was set by Ryan Armour in Friday’s first round.

The 52-year-old is making his 14th appearance on the tour and is seeking his first win. His best finish is a tie for 11th at the 2026 Dick’s Open.

Goggin birdied all four of the par-5s, buoyed by a 300.5-yard driving average, third-best in the field on Saturday.

Countryman Rod Pampling followed up his 64 on Friday with a 65 on Saturday and trails by one at 15 under.

Vaughn Taylor and Aussie Michael Wright shot matching two-day scores of 65-66 and are tied for third place at 13 under. Armour, Paul Goydos and Australia’s Richard Green are knotted at 12 under. Armour’s

Goggin has had to qualify for every event in which he has played this season, excluding the Senior PGA Championship. He referred to it as “living the dream.”

“It’s probably the first tournament where I played sort of how I played in all the qualifiers,” he said. “Shot a lot of good numbers in qualifiers, a lot of low numbers, and sort of the feel like I can finally relax a little bit instead of just putting so much pressure on myself.

“Played nicely and made some key putts and made a nice sand save on 17, which kept my momentum going. Yeah, it’s just the sort of day you have when you shoot 10 under. Everything kind of goes your way.”

Pampling birdied five of his last seven holes and is second in putting (1.54) for the weekend.

It has been nearly three years since he won on the tour, and he is glad to be in the hunt.

“I feel good out there. I’m not stressed out there, so it’s just — I’ve just going control myself and the rest is pretty good,” Pampling said. “As I say, the key is I’m rolling it good, so that’s a good part of shooting low, obviously.”

Taylor got off to a hot start, birdieing the first two holes and then birdieing Nos. 8, 9 and 10 to put himself in position heading into Sunday.

“It’s been OK. A little up and down,” said Taylor of his rookie season. “Kind of took me a while to get settled in … Took a few years off, so I didn’t realize how rusty I was for tournament golf. So a little bit different playing at home with friends.”
