Frederick Gaudreau and Bobby McMann scored in a shootout for the Seattle Kraken, who let a three-goal third-period lead lapse but pulled out a 4-3 victory over the visiting Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday.

Mackie Samoskevich, Ryker Evans and Brandon Montour scored goals in regulation for the Kraken, who ended a two-game losing streak (0-1-1) while improving to 4-1-1 in their past six games.

Philipp Grubauer stopped 22 shots to get his third win in his past four starts (3-0-1). He stopped Dylan Larkin in the final round of the shootout, his third save on Detroit’s four shootout attempts.

Alex DeBrincat scored career goal No. 300 in the last minute of regulation as part of a two-point game. Lucas Raymond got his first goal and also finished with two points. Viktor Arvidsson added a goal in regulation and one in the shootout, and Larkin notched two assists.

Daniil Tarasov made 24 saves as Detroit earned at least a point for the fifth straight game (2-0-3). He turned away two of Seattle’s four shootout tries.

Seattle took a 3-0 lead into the third period, but the Red Wings, who started a four-game road trip, outshot the Kraken 13-4 in the final period. The hosts did not register a shot in the final 14 1/2 minutes of regulation.

Arvidsson got his fourth goal of the season and first even-strength tally with 13:35 to go. Arvidsson then drew an interference penalty against Evans with 12:59 remaining, and Raymond capitalized 23 seconds later.

It stayed 3-2 until the final minute. Detroit pulled Tarasov with 2:22 remaining, and Stephenson was penalized for roughing with 1:25 remaining.

DeBrincat, whose goal with 1:33 left in regulation forced overtime on Saturday in Detroit’s 4-3 shootout win over the San Jose Sharks, scored the tying goal Tuesday with 16.9 seconds remaining.

The first 40 minutes belonged to the Kraken.

Samoskevich scored off a backhand feed from Stephenson with 13:15 left in the opening period.

The Red Wings were called for too many men on the ice and delay of game in the first 97 seconds of the middle period. While the Kraken could not cash in on the 5-on-3, Evans was in the right place as a loose puck drifted into the high slot with 16:38 left in the second.

Montour then scored his first of the season on a one-timer with 3:59 left in the second after Catton won a faceoff.
