Dylan Cozens and Tim Stutzle each had a goal and an assist, and the Ottawa Senators scored three second-period goals en route to a 5-1 win over the host San Jose Sharks on Saturday.

Shane Pinto had an empty-net goal and an assist, and Drake Batherson and Ridly Greig also scored for the Senators, who are 2-1-1 in their past four games. Jake Sanderson had two assists, and Samuel Ersson made 21 saves.

Michael Misa scored for the Sharks, who have lost three of four. Alex Nedeljkovic made 30 saves for San Jose, which won 6-2 at Ottawa on Oct. 22.

Each team was 0-for-3 on its power play.

Cozens gave the Senators a 1-0 lead at 13:25 of the first period when he took a pass from Stutzle on a 3-on-2 rush and scored on a wrist shot from the right circle. It was his third goal in two games.

Misa tied the score 1-1 at 16:06. Ersson made the save against Jacob Trouba, but Trouba got to the rebound and passed to Misa, who knocked it in from in front of the crease.

Batherson put the Senators up 2-1 at 5:04 of the second period when he took a pass behind the defense from Philip Tomasino on the rush and beat Nedeljkovic with a wrist shot.

Batherson has 12 points (six goals, six assists) during a seven-game point streak

The Senators pulled away with two goals in 83 seconds.

Stutzle increased the lead to 3-1 during 4-on-4 play at 10:54. Ottawa entered the zone 3-2 and Thomas Chabot dropped the puck to Sanderson, and he passed across to a charging Stutzle, who scored on a snap shot from the left circle.

Greig made 4-1 with a short-handed goal at 12:17. He passed up ice to Pinto to start a 2-on-1 rush, took the return pass, deked Nedeljkovic and slid a backhander home.

Pinto scored into an empty net at 17:30 of the third period for the 5-1 final.
