Report: Michael Brantley agrees to 3-year deal with Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays reached a three-year deal with free-agent outfielder Michael Brantley, multiple outlets reported Wednesday.

The deal is pending a physical.

The news follows Tuesday night’s reports that the Blue Jays signed Brantley’s former teammate, George Springer, to a six-year, $150 million deal.

The Jays also reportedly reached agreements with pitchers Kirby Yates and Tyler Chatwood on Tuesday.

Brantley, 33, is coming off a two-year stint in Houston after 10 years in Cleveland. Brantley hit .300 with an on-base percentage of .364 and slugging percentage of .476 in 46 games last season with five home runs and 22 RBIs. The four-time All Star is a career .297/.354/.440 hitter with 114 home runs.

Brantley split time last season between left field and designated hitter. In addition to Springer, the Blue Jays also feature Randal Grichuk, Teoscar Hernandez and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in the outfield.
