Daniel Schneemann, Travis Bazzana and Brayan Rocchio each drove in two runs as the host Cleveland Guardians cruised to a 7-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Monday.

Guardians starter Joey Cantillo (3-1) tossed six shutout innings in a 93-pitch performance. He scattered five hits, walked one and struck out four.

David Fry went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI and Kyle Manzardo finished 2-for-4 with a double and two runs for Cleveland in the opener of a three-game set. The Guardians had lost their previous two contests.

Nolan Schanuel and Jo Adell each had two hits for the Angels, who took their third loss in four games.

A five-run third — when the Guardians had only two hits but drew four walks — staked Cleveland to a 7-0 lead.

The Guardians loaded the bases on walks to Chase DeLauter, Rhys Hoskins and Manzardo, chasing Jose Fermin from the game with one out.

Kirby Yates entered in relief and walked Fry, forcing in DeLauter. Schneemann’s broken-bat bloop single gave the Guardians a 5-0 advantage when Hoskins and Manzardo scored.

The Guardians took the 7-0 lead on Bazzana’s two-run double to left center field that scooted past a diving Mike Trout.

In the second, Manzardo reached on a broken-bat single with one out and Fry singled. After Schneemann moved up the runners with a fielder’s-choice grounder, Bazzana walked to load the bases. Fermin then replaced Brent Suter on the mound for Los Angeles.

With an 0-2 count, Rocchio lined a single to right field, scoring Manzardo and Schneemann as the Guardians took a 2-0 lead.

When Cleveland turned to its bullpen in the seventh, Los Angeles loaded the bases on a hit batter, a single and a walk against Matt Festa, but Vaughn Grissom line out to center field, ending the threat.

Adell’s RBI single in the eighth got the Angels on the board. Grissom’s single plated Zach Neto in the ninth.

Suter (1-2) gave up two runs on two hits in 1 2/3 innings. He struck out one and walked one.

Cleveland’s patient offensive approach produced 10 walks.
