Jake Bauers’ RBI double and a controversial eighth-inning call helped the Milwaukee Brewers edge the Minnesota Twins 3-2 on Friday in Minneapolis.

Jackson Chourio had two hits and two runs and Bauers was 2-for-4.

Reliever Aaron Ashby (8-0) allowed the tying run, yet was awarded the win as he gave up four hits and one run in two innings. Trevor Megill notched his fifth save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Ryan Kreidler had two hits for the Twins.

Chourio legged out an infield single off Minnesota reliever Andrew Morris (1-2) to start the eighth and advanced to third on Brice Turang’s single. After Turang stole second, William Contreras’ grounder to Brooks Lee at shortstop prompted a throw to Royce Lewis at third.

As Chourio slid back into third, he was tagged out, but the umpires gathered and ruled obstruction. Chourio was awarded home, pulling the Brewers even at 2-2. Twins manager Derek Shelton was ejected for arguing the call.

One batter later, Milwaukee took a 3-2 lead when Bauers’ RBI double to right brought in Turang.

Chourio roped the first pitch of the game off the center field wall for a leadoff double, later advanced to third on Turang’s one-out flyout and scored when Contreras singled past a drawn-in infield for a 1-0 lead.

In his second career start, Coleman Crow held the Twins hitless through 4 2/3 innings before Kreidler singled for the Twins’ first hit. But one pitch later, Contreras threw Kreidler out attempting to steal second.

James Outman and Austin Martin opened the sixth with singles to right field to give the Twins runners on first and third with no outs. Aaron Ashby then replaced Crow on the mound and induced a double play, but Outman scored to tie the game at 1-1.

With one out in the seventh, Keaschall and Kody Clemens each singled. Lewis’ RBI single plated Keaschall and Minnesota led 2-1.

Crow gave up three hits, one run and struck out three in five innings. Minnesota starter Joe Ryan yielded four hits, one run and fanned seven over six innings.
