Bryan Woo pitched seven-plus scoreless innings as the Seattle Mariners defeated the visiting Baltimore Orioles 3-0 Thursday afternoon.

The Mariners won the season series 4-3, taking two of three games this week after the teams split a four-game set last week in Baltimore.

Woo (6-5), who had dropped his previous two decisions and three of the past four, allowed just two hits through the first seven innings — a two-out, ground-rule double by Jackson Holliday in the third and a two-out single by Colton Cowser in the fifth — before running into some trouble in the eighth. Former Mariner Leody Taveras led off that inning with a line-drive single to center and stole second before Cowser walked, ending Woo’s afternoon.

Reliever Eduard Bazardo got Blaze Alexander to ground into a forceout at third, Holliday to fly out to center field — where outfielders Victor Robles and Miles Mastrobuoni nearly collided — and Taylor Ward to watch a called third strike to end the inning.

Woo gave up three hits, walked one and fanned nine.

Mariners closer Andres Munoz worked a nervy ninth for his 12th save of the season. Munoz walked Gunnar Henderson leading off before Adley Rutschman hit a chopper up the middle. Rookie shortstop Colt Emerson tagged out Henderson but struggled to get the ball out of his mitt and his throw to first hit Rutschman in the head. Rutschman left the game for pinch runner Jeremiah Jackson.

Pete Alonso grounded out before Samuel Basallo walked, bringing the potential tying run to the plate. Munoz struck out Taveras on a slider low and inside to end it.

The Mariners did all of their damage with a two-out rally in the first inning off Orioles starter Shane Baz (4-7).

Josh Naylor, who missed the previous two games with right wrist discomfort, lined a single to right field and took second when Taveras unsuccessfully tried to barehand the ball. After Dominic Canzone walked, Cole Young lined a run-scoring double to left. Emerson then grounded a two-run single to right to make it 3-0.

Baz overcame the shaky start to last seven innings, giving up three runs on five hits. He walked two and struck out nine.

The Mariners were without outfielders Luke Raley (lower back tightness) and Julio Rodriguez (hamstring spasm). Raley missed his third consecutive game and Rodriguez left Wednesday night’s contest after six innings after suffering the injury while making a leaping catch on a ball hit by Alonso.
