Cam Schlittler pitched six innings of one-hit ball in his latest stellar outing, and the host New York Yankees earned a 2-0 victory over the New York Mets in the final game of the Subway Series on Sunday afternoon.

Ben Rice and Austin Wells provided the only runs of the game via solo home runs as the Yankees (86-63) won for the 18th time in 26 games and lowered their magic number for clinching a postseason spot to one.

Schlittler allowed only Brett Baty’s double with two outs in the fifth. It was the third time in his 45 career starts that Schlittler allowed one hit and the second time this season.

Schlittler struck out eight and walked two. He moved into a tie with Milwaukee’s Jacob Misiorowski for the major league lead by lowering his ERA to 1.95 ERA.

Schlittler threw 60 of 94 pitches for strikes and ended his outing after taking Bo Bichette’s comebacker off the back of his right leg. The ball deflected to catcher Wells, who threw to Luis Garcia Jr. at first base to complete the out.

Afterwards, Schlittler headed straight to the clubhouse but seemed fine.

Rice slugged his third career leadoff homer and Wells homered in the third off Mets starter Christian Scott (4-5).

Scott allowed two runs on three hits in six innings. The right-hander struck out Aaron Judge three times and finished with seven strikeouts to go with two walks.

Judge went 0-for-3 and is 3-for-17 since being activated from the IL.

The Yankees’ Brent Headrick tossed a 1-2-3 seventh and Paul Blackburn got Lindor on a pop-up to end the eighth. David Bednar stranded a runner and notched his 34th save in 37 chances.

The Mets (69-80) were blanked for the 14th time as Lindor and Juan Soto were a combined 0-for-7 with four strikeouts.
