Chicago Cubs starter Edward Cabrera left Tuesday’s game against the Colorado Rockies with one out in the fifth inning after manager Craig Counsell and a team trainer came to the mound.
Ryan Rolison entered to relieve Cabrera with Colorado leading 3-2 and allowed two more runs that were charged to Cabrera.
Cabrera finished the day allowing five runs on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks in 4 1/3 innings pitched.
There was no indication as to why Cabrera exited early, but the Cubs did place him on the 15-day IL on May 24 due to a blister issue.
With Daniel Palencia going on the IL earlier Tuesday, Chicago currently has nine pitchers on the various injury lists.
