Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a go-ahead homer with two outs in the sixth inning Tuesday night as the New York Yankees overcame an early deficit against Jacob deGrom and earned a 7-4 victory over the visiting Texas Rangers.

New York won its fifth straight and improved to 15-2 in its past 17 games. New York picked up its latest win after falling behind by three runs in the first inning.

Chisholm snapped a 3-3 tie by belting a 1-0, 98 mph fastball into the right field seats — the second baseman’s second career homer against deGrom.

Ryan McMahon tied the game at 3-3 with a two-run homer in the second, becoming only the fourth player with at least three career homers off deGrom — joining Giancarlo Stanton (four), Freddie Freeman and Austin Riley.

Cody Bellinger contributed three RBIs: an RBI double that plated Aaron Judge in the first and a two-run double in the seventh off Jalen Beeks immediately after Judge was intentionally walked.

Paul Goldschmidt added a solo homer in the eighth for the Yankees, who are outscoring opponents 46-14 in the past five games.

New York right-hander Elmer Rodriguez allowed three runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings in his second career start. He struck out two and walked four.

Four relievers followed Rodriguez and combined on 4 1/3 innings of one-run ball. Brent Headrick (2-0) ended the fifth by fanning pinch hitter Sam Haggerty with the bases loaded. Headrick threw 1 1/3 perfect innings with three strikeouts.

David Bednar escaped a bases-loaded jam in the eighth and notched the final five outs for his 10th save.

deGrom (2-2) allowed season highs of six runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings. The two-time Cy Young award winner struck out seven and walked one.

It was his most runs allowed since May 17, 2019, at Miami while a member of the New York Mets.

Texas lost for the 10th time in 15 games and scored all but one of its runs in the first. The Rangers stranded 12 and went 3-for-13 with runners in scoring position.

Joc Pederson hit a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded, Ezequiel Duran hit an RBI single and Josh Jung scored on a wild pitch to account for the Rangers’ three first-inning runs.

Jung collected three hits and extended his hitting streak to 13 games but popped out with the bases load the end the eighth.
