Jacob Young doubled in the go-ahead run during a four-run eighth as the host Washington Nationals rallied to complete a three-game sweep of the Los Angeles Angels with a 6-5 victory on Sunday afternoon.

Daylen Lile, CJ Abrams, Yohandy Morales and James Wood provided two hits apiece for Washington (70-81) as Erik Tolman (1-1) collected his first major league win in relief. Jack Sinclair handled the ninth for his first big-league save.

Moises Ballesteros and Zach Neto homered and Mike Trout doubled and walked twice for Los Angeles (56-93), which finished 3-6 on its nine-game, 11-day trip. Luke Murphy (0-3) allowed four runs on four hits in his inning of relief.

Los Angeles took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning when Ballesteros smashed his ninth home run, a 407-foot drive to center.

The Angels extended the lead to 2-0 in the fifth when Neto hit his 26th home run, a 440-foot drive into the bleachers in center.

Washington parlayed three hits and a hit batter into two runs in the sixth to forge a 2-2 tie. Abrams started the rally by hustling for a double and scoring on a Morales single to center. Lile followed with a single and Keibert Ruiz was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Morales scored the tying run on a fielder’s choice by pinch hitter Brady House.

Los Angeles scored two runs without a hit to take a 4-2 lead in the eighth. Neto and Wade Meckler walked and it appeared Tolman would get out of the jam when Vaughn Grissom hit a double-play grounder to short, but Abrams mishandled the ball for an error to load the bases. Neto scored on a wild pitch and Ballesteros followed with a sacrifice fly.

Washington answered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning highlighted by an RBI triple by Lile off the wall in right center, a pinch-hit RBI single by Jorbit Vivas to tie it, 4-4, and Young’s double into the gap in left center.

The Angels pulled within a run in the ninth when Josh Lowe led off with a double and scored on a groundout by Christian Moore. Sinclair struck out Neto to end the game.
