CJ Abrams delivered a two-run triple to spark a six-run 11th inning for the Washington Nationals in a 10-4 road win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday.

Abrams finished 3-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs for Washington, which had lost seven games in a row. Nasim Nunez and Andres Chaparro each drove in two runs, while Brady House delivered a pinch-hit home run for the visitors.

Luis Arraez belted his first homer as a member of the Phillies, who had won their previous four games. Philadelphia only managed five hits, four singles and Arraez’s home run.

The Nationals took a 4-3 lead in the 10th when Jose Alvarado walked Nunez with the bases loaded, but the Phillies tied it against Clayton Beeter (4-3) in the bottom half when Trea Turner hit a sacrifice fly. Right fielder Dylan Crews made a terrific diving catch on the play, but Derek Hill jogged home to tie it.

In the 11th, Caleb Kilian (3-7) issued a leadoff walk to Jacob Young before Abrams drilled one off the wall in center field. Hill attempted to make a lunging catch and crashed into the wall, allowing two runs to score while the ball rolled around.

Veteran pitcher Miles Mikolas, pinch hitting because Washington had forfeited its designated hitter earlier in the game, squeezed home another run. The Nationals plated three more runs in the frame, highlighted by Chaparro’s two-run double, as Chase Shugart couldn’t stop the bleeding.

Philadelphia starter Andrew Painter exited after four innings due to hamstring tightness. He surrendered one run and three hits, walking one and striking out four. Jake Irvin gave Washington 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs and three hits, including Arraez’s second-inning solo shot.

With the hosts leading 2-1, Brooks Raley made his Phillies debut in the seventh and recorded the first two outs before House sent an 0-1 sweeper into the seats in right-center. Young followed with a double and Abrams promptly delivered an RBI single to give the Nationals the lead.

Bryson Stott drew Philadelphia even with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.
