Rafael Marchan hit a solo homer and Alec Bohm added a two-run blast as the visiting Philadelphia Phillies beat the Chicago Cubs 5-3 on Wednesday.

Philadelphia broke an eighth-inning tie with two runs against Tyson Miller (2-1). Trea Turner scored on Edmundo Sosa’s sacrifice fly and Whit Merrifield followed with an RBI single.

Matt Strahm (4-1) replaced Zack Wheeler to begin the seventh inning and earned the win for the Phillies, who have won three straight and are a season-best 28 games above .500.

Orion Kerkering pitched a scoreless eighth inning before Jose Alvarado worked around a one-out single in the ninth for his 13th save.

Pete Crow-Armstrong doubled twice and drove in two runs for Chicago, which lost for the eighth time in 10 games.

The Cubs took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Ian Happ hit a leadoff double and scored on Crow-Armstrong’s double to right field.

Marchan’s solo homer against Shota Imanaga tied the game in the third inning. The 414-foot homer was Marchan’s third this season.

The Cubs moved ahead with a run in the fourth inning. Happ drew a leadoff walk and raced around to score on Crow-Armstrong’s double to the left-center field gap.

Turner reached on an infield single to begin the sixth inning and Bohm followed with a two-run homer, his 11th this season, to put the Phillies ahead 3-2. Turner and Bohm were named All-Star starters before the game, along with injured star Bryce Harper.

Imanaga allowed three runs on six hits over six innings. He walked one and struck out eight.

Philadelphia, which opened the three-game series with a 6-4 victory on Tuesday, received another strong outing from the 34-year-old Wheeler. He gave up two runs on five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts over six innings while throwing 102 pitches.

The Cubs pulled even against Strahm in the seventh inning. Michael Busch lined a two-out double and scored on Cody Bellinger’s single to center field.

Turner and Bohm hit back-to-back singles to open the eighth inning, and both advanced a base with one out on a passed ball. The Phillies moved ahead on Sosa’s sacrifice fly and tacked on another run on Merrifield’s run-scoring single.
