Rafael Devers’ game-winning hit bounced over the left field fence in the 10th inning Friday night, delivering the San Francisco Giants a 7-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

Having already homered earlier in the game, Devers came to the plate in the 10th against Angels reliever Chase Silseth (3-2) after Bryce Eldridge drew a full-count walk to load the bases with one out.

Even though the hit over a drawn-in outfield bounded into the bleachers, Devers was awarded only a single. Automatic runner Jesus Rodriguez came home with the decisive run.

Caleb Kilian (3-6), who pitched a scoreless top of the 10th, was credited with the win in the opener of a three-game interleague series.

Down 5-1 after three innings, the Angels rallied into a 6-6 tie on a two-run home run by Vaughn Grissom, his sixth, in the eighth inning.

Pitching with a lead after Devers launched his 21st homer, a two-run shot in the first, Giants starter Logan Webb left with a 5-4 advantage after six innings, having allowed six hits. He walked two and struck out four.

Casey Schmitt also homered for the Giants, his 21st, after Devers was walked intentionally with two outs in the third. The three-run blast gave San Francisco its 5-1 lead.

The Giants added a needed insurance run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Daniel Susac.

Grayson Rodriguez worked the first four innings for the Angels, yielding five runs and six hits. He walked two and struck out three.

Triples by Zach Neto leading off the game and Tyler Heineman, a two-run hit to right field in the fifth, helped produce the Angels’ first four runs.

Devers finished with three RBIs for the Giants, who snapped a five-game losing streak. He and Eldridge scored twice apiece, while Luis Arraez collected three hits and Drew Gilbert had two.

Grissom and Nolan Schanuel had two hits apiece for the Angels, who dropped their second straight game.
