The Colorado Rockies selected the contract of left-hander Luis Peralta from Triple-A Albuquerque, and the recent trade acquisition is set to make his major league debut.
The Rockies optioned right-hander Tanner Gordon to Triple-A to make room on the active roster and transferred right-hander German Marquez to the 60-day injured list to open a spot on the 40-man roster.
Peralta, 23, was acquired in the late-July trade that sent left-hander Jalen Beeks to the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 32 minor league relief appearances for four clubs across three different levels this season, Peralta is 7-0 with a 1.13 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 47 2/3 innings.
Gordon, 26, made his major league debut July 7 and went 0-5 with a 7.55 ERA in seven starts.
Marquez, 29, made just one appearance this season on July 14 and will not pitch again in 2024 due to a stress reaction in his right elbow.
