Trent Grisham hit a tiebreaking RBI double with one out in the seventh inning and homered twice Wednesday night as the host New York Yankees overcame a pair of three-run deficits in their 10-5 victory over the Seattle Mariners.

The Yankees went ahead in the seventh for the second straight game after Grisham and Ryan McMahon hit two-run singles in the series opener Tuesday.

Rookie George Lombard Jr. started the rally with a single off Gabe Speier (2-3) and Grisham followed with a double to the gap in right-center field that easily scored the shortstop from first.

Grisham scored on an RBI single by Ben Rice that eluded shortstop Colt Emerson’s glove and gave the Yankees a 7-5 lead. Jazz Chisholm Jr. capped the inning with a bases-loaded walk.

Spencer Jones helped the Yankees overcome deficits of 3-0 and 4-1 with a pair of doubles off Seattle starter Bryce Miller. He hit a two-run double in the third and a tying double in the fifth after Grisham homered earlier in the inning.

Grisham added his second homer in the eighth to give the Yankees double-digit runs for the first time since July 9. It was the center fielder’s ninth career multi-homer game and second this season.

Randy Arozarena hit a two-run homer and Julio Rodriguez belted a solo homer off New York starter Will Warren in the first inning. Dominic Canzone homered in the third for a 4-1 lead and Josh Naylor hit an RBI single in the fifth for a 5-3 lead.

Despite putting together better at-bats, the Mariners lost their season-high sixth straight game. Seattle also lost for the 15th time in 20 games despite hitting three homers for the first time since July 28 against the Dodgers.

After Warren allowed five runs on six hits in four-plus innings, five relievers combined on five scoreless innings. Paul Blackburn (4-2) picked Naylor off first in the seventh before the Yankees completed the comeback.
