The Minnesota Twins acquired left-handed reliever Anthony Banda in a trade with the Dodgers on Thursday, sending international bonus pool money to Los Angeles in the deal.
Banda, 32, is coming off a 2025 season in which he made a career-high and team-leading 71 appearances during the regular season (one start), posting a 3.18 ERA and 5-1 record in 65 innings. He also made seven postseason appearances, with a 9.53 ERA over 5 2/3 innings, but won his second straight World Series with the Dodgers.
The Twins will be the ninth major league team for Banda, who pitched for the Arizona Diamondbacks (2017), Tampa Bay Rays (2018-20), New York Mets (2021), Pittsburgh Pirates (2021-22), Toronto Blue Jays (2022), New York Yankees (2022), Washington Nationals (2023) and Dodgers (2024-25).
In nine major league seasons, Banda has a 15-9 record and 4.44 ERA in 209 appearances (nine starts), securing three saves over 233 1/3 innings with 220 strikeouts and 101 walks.
