D.C. United extend defender Lucas Bartlett’s contract through the 2027 season on Thursday.
The 27-year-old center back’s deal also includes an option for 2028.
Bartlett has one goal and two assists in 24 MLS matches (23 starts) in his first season with D.C. United.
“Lucas is a talented defender who reads the game well and has played a pivotal role in our backline this season,” general manager Ally Mackay said in a release.
“As a center back, he is in the prime of his career, so we are thrilled to extend his contract and keep Lucas here in the nation’s capital through 2027.”
Bartlett was drafted No. 6 overall by FC Dallas in 2022 and made his MLS debut last season with St. Louis City, recording one assist in 14 matches (12 starts).
