Duncan McGuire scored a goal in the 92nd minute to rally the Houston Dynamo to a 2-2 draw with Minnesota United on Saturday night in Saint Paul, Minn.
McGuire, obtained from Orlando City on July 10 for $2.4 million in general allocation money, headed a Nick Markanich’s header pass from the top of the six-yard box past Minnesota goalie Drake Callender and into the middle of the net for his first goal since joining the Dynamo.
Lyle Foster, obtained on loan until June of 2027 from Burnley of the English Football League, also scored a goal in his first start for Houston (13-9-6, 45 points).
Jonathan Bond made three saves for the Dynamo before departing in the 74th minute with an apparent head injury. Blake Gillingham finished up and made one save.
Kelvin Yeboah scored his 15th goal for Minnesota United (7-12-9, 30 points), breaking the team’s single-season record of 14 goals set by Christian Ramirez in 2017. Marcus Caldeira also scored a goal and Callender finished with four saves for the Loons, who saw their winless streak extended to seven games.
Houston took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute when Foster charged down the middle of the pitch, drove around Michael Boxall near the top of the penalty box and smoothly drilled a right-footed shot into the left corner. It was the first MLS goal for Foster, who scored three goals in 26 matches last season for Burnley.
Yeboah tied it, 1-1, in the 48th minute with a sliding right-footed shot from the right edge of the six-yard box off a curling cross by Morris Duggan.
The Loons then took a 2-1 lead in the 78th minute when Caldeira, back from international duty where he played for Canada, took a pass from Cherrion Valerius on the right side of the box and slipped a sharp-angled right-footed shot inside the near post for his sixth goal in 10 games.
