LA Galaxy forward Gabriel Pec was named the 2024 MLS Newcomer of the Year on Monday.
The 23-year-old Brazilian collected 16 goals and 14 assists in 33 matches (30 starts).
The All-Star helped the Galaxy make the MLS Cup Playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
Pec received 37.53 percent of the votes from media, players and team technical staff. Inter Miami CF striker Luis Suarez was runner-up with 27.6 percent and FC Cincinnati forward Luca Orellano was third with 12.5 percent.
Pec is the second Galaxy player to win Newcomer of the Year, joining Zlatan Ibrahimovic (2018).
The Galaxy acquired Pec from Brazil’s Vaso da Gama in January for a reported $10 million plus incentives.
