Jude Terry scored his second career MLS goal midway through the first half to help Los Angeles FC to a 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday night.
Armindo Sieb added his first MLS goal in the dying moments after his summer transfer from FSV Mainz in Germany’s top flight.
Those contributions were more than enough to lift LAFC (11-7-7, 40 points) to their first league win since July 25, halting a six-match winless slide.
Hugo Lloris made one save to keep his 12th clean sheet and LAFC’s 13th as the club finished the night still holding onto third place in the Western Conference, above Dallas and St. Louis on goal differential.
The Red Bulls (7-11-6, 27 points) extended their winless run to six matches and fell to 12th place in the Eastern Conference in their second of four consecutive away matches.
The visitors also finished with nine men after three potentially troubling injuries, two of which came after manager Michael Bradley had utilized all of his allotted substitutions.
The 17-year-old midfielder Adri Mehmeti departed in the 33rd minute, defender Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty went off in roughly the 75th, and defender Justin Che exited in second-half stoppage time.
The 17-year-old Terry made his third start partly because of injuries in LAFC’s midfield, with Timothy Tillman and Ryan Porteous out with leg injuries.
His scoring opportunity came following a Red Bull turnover in their own half.
Eventually, Son Heung-min received Yevhen Cheberko’s pass on the left side of the penalty area, used a stepover to elude two defenders, and then drove a firm shot that forced Ethan Horvath into a lunging stop.
Terry reached the rebound just inside the box and drove a low shot through traffic past Horvath, who appeared to see it late.
Midfielder Igor Jesus came on for LAFC in the 60th minute, marking his first action since Aug. 23, 2025, when he tore his left ACL.
Son nearly doubled LAFC’s advantage in the 78th minute, but Che got just enough of a deflection of his effort from the edge of the penalty area to guide it onto the crossbar.
