Apple TV is set to ditch its additional fee to watch MLS games on the platform, ESPN reported Thursday, although watching a majority of the league’s games still will require a subscription.

MLS Season Pass will be no more in 2026. A $99 fee was necessary to watch the package of games on Apple TV, although existing Apple TV subscribers received a discount. MLS season-ticket holders received Season Pass for free.

MLS Season Pass actually ended up being a thing of the past once the regular season ended, since Apple TV executives already had decided to make the 2025 playoff games available to all subscribers.

The additional MLS Season Pass fee also allowed viewers to watch the action in the Leagues Cup and Campeones Cup as well as the MLS All-Star Game. Now all of that will be available starting in 2026 by subscribing to Apple TV.

The news comes as the league saw a 5.4% attendance dip in 2025 to 21,988 on-site fans per game, down from the league’s record of 23,234 in 2024. MLS had 11,454,205 total fans through the turnstiles in 2024 compared to 11,213,880 this past season.

Atlanta United FC led the league in attendance for the fifth consecutive season but also was down slightly in 2025 to 43,992 fans per game.

Other sports offerings on Apple TV include Major League Baseball games on Friday night, while Formula 1 races will air on the service starting in 2026.
