Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo will sit out Sunday night’s game against the visiting Orlando Magic, marking his 30th missed game of the season.

Antetokounmpo recently returned from a right calf strain that caused him to miss 15 games. The Bucks are holding him out on the second night of a back-to-back in order to manage that injury.

Antetokounmpo played 27 minutes in Saturday’s 113-99 home win over the Utah Jazz. He recorded 27 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and four steals. In three games since his return, Antetokounmpo is averaging 23.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals.

The two-time MVP is averaging 27.5 points, 9.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 33 games this season. Antetokounmpo has already assured that he will play the fewest games of his 13 seasons with the Bucks. His previous low was 61 during the 2020-21 campaign.

A 10-time All-Star, Antetokounmpo has career averages of 24.0 points, 9.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 892 games (827 starts).

Bucks guard Kevin Porter Jr. (right knee) will miss his third straight game. Porter is averaging 17.5 points, 7.4 assists and 5.2 rebounds in 35 games (33 starts).
