Rookie Isaiah Collier hit a game-winning shot to cap a career night while leading the short-handed Utah Jazz to a 112-111 overtime victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday in Salt Lake City.

Collier, the 29th pick of the 2024 draft, scored a career-high 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting to go with seven rebounds and seven assists.

Collin Sexton added 21 points and Brice Sensabaugh and Avi Mykhailiuk each scored 16 as Utah snapped a nine-game home losing streak in dramatic fashion. Utah had lost three in a row, including Saturday at Phoenix.

Collier’s biggest bucket came with 2.1 seconds remaining in overtime after he snuck between two defending Nets, recovered the ball and burst to the hoop for a go-ahead layup.

Brooklyn had just taken a one-point lead after Tosan Evbuomwan drained a pair of free throws with 6.1 seconds remaining in OT.

Evbuomwan finished with a career-high 22 points to lead the Nets, who overcame a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime.

Nic Claxton added 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Ben Simmons totaled 14 points, nine assists and six boards in the Nets’ fifth-straight loss.

The Nets made a massive surge late in the fourth quarter to knot things up, outscoring Utah 17-4 over a five-minute stretch.

Ziaire Williams, who scored 19, hit four straight free throws to tie the game at 102-102 with 1:01 remaining. Neither team could score in the final minute of the fourth quarter, leading to the extra session.

Collier had a scary moment late in the third quarter after he stole the ball and crashed hard to the floor after a dunk on the other end. He returned to the bench in the fourth quarter after being evaluated in the training room for a concussion.

Brooklyn jumped ahead early and held an eight-point lead with 1:40 left in the first quarter after a Jalen Wilson 3-pointer. Utah outscored the Nets 7-2 in the final minute to trim the deficit to one by the end of the first.

Utah leapfrogged Brooklyn in the second quarter to snag a 49-48 halftime lead.

The teams traded blows and the lead in the third until the Jazz’s Collier and Elijah Harkless hit back-to-back 3s en route to an 85-78 end-of-quarter lead.

Utah played without Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson, John Collins, Keyonte George, Taylor Hendricks, Johnny Juzang and Walker Kessler for various reasons.
