New Orleans Pelicans guard Dejounte Murray is still dealing with a toe contusion and did not participate in Saturday’s practice.
The former All-Star played in the Pelicans’ first preseason game, recording six points, six assists and four rebounds against the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, he sat out of their matchup against the Miami Heat on Thursday.
“We are going to continue to be precautionary about it,” Pelicans coach Jamahl Mosley told reporters on Saturday.
“We’re just going to keep evaluating him and how he responds to the treatment we’re giving him. So right now, to try to gauge whether it is playing or not playing, we’re 10 days into training camp. So, I’ll evaluate that once we start to get into regular-season games.”
Murray has missed significant time due to injuries since joining the Pelicans ahead of the 2024-25 season, appearing in 45 total games over the last two seasons. During that span, he’s averaged 17.2 points, 7.0 assists, 6.1 rebounds and 1.9 steals.
