Golden State Warriors standout Steph Curry will return to the starting lineup for the team’s Game 5 matchup with the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night, according to an NBC Sports Bay Area report.
The network’s Monte Pool tweeted: “Multiple sources: All signs point to Warriors opening Game 5 vs DEN with the small lineup. Stephen Curry moves in, Kevon Looney moves out and Draymond Green moves to center. As previously indicated by Shams Charania (of The Athletic).”
Charania had indicated there was “momentum” toward that move in a tweet earlier Wednesday.
Curry, who averaged 25.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game in 64 regular-season contests (all starts), has come off the bench in the first four matchups with the Nuggets. In only 28 minutes per game during the series, he’s put up 27.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.
The Warriors lead the Nuggets three games to one in the Western Conference first-round series.
