Washington Wizards forward AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, will have to wait to make his regular season debut.
He has been ruled out of Wednesday’s opener against the visiting Milwaukee Bucks, head coach Brian Keefe announced Tuesday.
Dybantsa, 19, is considered day-to-day due to a mild left ankle sprain sustained in last Friday’s preseason finale against the New Orleans Pelicans.
The 6-foot-9 Dybantsa led the nation in scoring at 25.5 points per game during his lone college campaign at BYU in 2025-26.
The Wizards’ second game is also at home on Friday against the Toronto Raptors.
