Bangot Dak scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds, Sebastian Rancik added 14 points, and Colorado cruised to a 94-66 victory over Alabama State on Monday night at the CU Events Center in Boulder, Colo.

The Buffaloes (4-0) led wire-to-wire. Dak scored the game’s first six points with four free throws and a layup 82 seconds into the game and Colorado didn’t look back after that.

The Buffaloes used a 14-0 spurt a few minutes later, building a 25-8 lead by the 11:26 mark of the first half. The 14-0 run included 3-pointers by Barrington Hargress and Isaiah Johnson as well as a layup by Dak to close out the stretch.

Colorado led 46-22 at halftime.

Rancik starred in the second half for the Buffaloes, scoring 10 of his 14 points. Colorado had a late 12-0 run to cap its impressive night, a spurt that featured a three-point play by Dak and a 3-pointer by Johnson.

For the game, Colorado shot 53.6% from the field and made 28 of 36 free-throw attempts. Dak was 8-for-9 from the free-throw line and Rancik was 10-for-10. Johnson, Josiah Sanders and Alon Michaeli each scored 10 points for the Buffaloes.

Alabama State (2-2), which defeated UAB and Virginia-Lynchburg last week, struggled to get much going all night. The Hornets shot 35.8% from the field and were overmatched inside. Colorado won the rebounding battle 46-33 and more than doubled Alabama State in points the paint, 48-22.

Asjon Anderson finished with a team-high 15 points off the bench on 4-of-15 shooting for the Hornets. Cam Palesse added 13 points and grabbed six rebounds, and Tyler Mason had 11 points and six rebounds.

Up next, Colorado stays home for a game against UC Davis on Friday. Alabama State travels to Air Force on Wednesday.
