Miles Sadler continued his strong start to his collegiate career by totaling 25 points and six assists as West Virginia pulled away in the second half for a 91-53 victory over Stetson on Friday night in Morgantown, W. Va.

After debuting with 16 points in Monday’s 45-point rout of Niagara, Sadler was even better in his second game.

The freshman guard made 11-of-16 shots, including seven of West Virginia’s 11 layups and three 3-pointers in 24 minutes.

Joson Sanon added 18 points and sank a career-high six 3-pointers on eight attempts. He has hit 9 of 14 3s so far for the Mountaineers (2-0).

Finley Bizjack contributed 13 points while Mouhamed Sylla finished with 11 points and six rebounds.

West Virginia shot 50% and made 13 of 31 3-point tries. The Mountaineers outscored Stetson 48-23 in the second half.

Sean Morgan led Stetson (0-3) with 15 points on five 3-pointers (12 attempts). Stetson shot 8-of-31 from behind the arc.

Collin Kuhl added 12 points and nine rebounds, but playing their third game in five nights against a power-conference opponent, the Hatters struggled offensively.

Stetson shot 25% in the second half and 35.2% overall. The Hatters also did not hit a field goal for the final 6:18 of the second half and for the final 7:14 of the first half.

Sanon sank four straight 3s in a span of 1:51 as the Mountaineers opened a 31-16 lead with 9:53 remaining. Stetson answered with an 11-2 spurt, and Morgan’s 3 sliced the lead to 33-27 with 7:14 left before Stetson missed its next 11 shots.

Sadler scored seven straight points in a span of 3:36 to push West Virginia’s lead to 40-27 on a jumper in the paint with 3:10 left. The Mountaineers held a 43-30 lead by halftime after Bizjack’s 3-point try went halfway down the hoop before bouncing out at the horn.

The Mountaineers scored the first nine points of the second half and Bizjack’s corner 3 pushed the lead to 52-30 with 17:23 left. Sanon sank his fifth 3 with 13:26 remaining for a 62-37 lead, and his sixth made it 67-44 with 10:50 left.

Sadler finished off his big night with a 3 that gave the Mountaineers a 30-point lead with 4:53 to go.
