Tight end C.J. Uzomah announced his retirement Monday after 10 NFL seasons.

He played his first seven seasons (2015-21) with the Cincinnati Bengals, who drafted him in the fifth round in 2015.

Uzomah, 33, played two seasons with the New York Jets (2022-23) and appeared in seven regular-season games with the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in 2024 before sitting out the 2025 campaign.

“Retiring in Stripes,” the Bengals posted on X, along with the words “Bengal Forever.”

Uzomah thanked the Bengals in a post on X.

“History has a way of repeating itself and there’s no place I’d want to formally announce my retirement, than the place that started it all for me and gave me my chance,” he wrote. “The place I will always think of as my second home and will always hold a special place in me and my family’s heart. The place where we won a playoff game for the first time since before I was born, and went on an odds defying run to the Super Bowl. A place I’ve met people who have become like brothers to me. Cincinnati, thank you for everything. Who Dey Forever.”

Uzomah caught 192 passes for 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns in 113 career games (85 starts).
