Caitlin Clark posted 21 of her 27 points during Indiana’s dominant first half, and finished with 11 assists, while Kelsey Mitchell scored 23 and Aliyah Boston added 22, as the Fever set a franchise record for single-game points to rout the visiting Connecticut Sun 123-88 on Wednesday night in Indianapolis.

Mitchell scored 16 and Boston 13, as the three Indiana All-Stars combined to shoot 19-of-29 during the first half. The Fever (17-10) shot 63% (27 of 43) and went 8 of 15 from 3-point range in the first two quarters. They also notched 18 assists in setting a franchise record for points in a half to lead 70-46 at the break.

For the game, Indiana, which led by as many as 36, shot 61.6% from the field and 11 of 22 from beyond the arc, while totaling 29 assists. The Fever enter the All-Star break a winner of three straight and seven of nine.

Clark went 8 of 13 from the field and 5 of 9 from 3-point range. Mitchell, who has scored at least 20 in 11 straight contests and set a WNBA record with 11 consecutive games making at least three 3-pointers, shot 9 of 16 overall. Boston went 10 of 14 from the field.

Diamond Miller scored 15 to lead six players in double-figure points for the Sun (7-20), who shot 44.3%, including 8 of 20 from distance, but lost their fifth straight to Indiana. Connecticut played without injured key veterans Brittney Griner (knee) and Aaliyah Edwards (knee).

Clark made her first four shot attempts, including 3-for-3 from 3-point range, to score a quick 11 points. Mitchell, meanwhile, got hot later in the first quarter, making 4 of 6, including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc, to also finish the opening period with 11 points.

Connecticut shot a solid 11-of-21 from the field in the first quarter but missed all five 3-point attempts. The Fever ran off nine straight points before Leila Lacan’s basket capped the first-period scoring, to lead 36-26 after one.

Clark knocked down a 3-pointer in the opening seconds of the second quarter, and added another basket from distance. Indiana scored the first 10 points of the period to lead 46-26.

Already in control, the Fever scored the first eight points of the second half, beginning with a paint bucket from Boston, who totaled four points during that surge.

Monique Billings and Tyasha Harris each scored 12 for the Fever.
