Olympic gold medalist and two-time NCAA national champion gymnast Jordan Chiles is returning to UCLA.
Chiles made the announcement Thursday in an appearance on NBC’s “Today” show.
“You all have been waiting for it — I am returning back to UCLA to represent the Bruins for my two remaining years of college,” Chiles, 23, said. “So you guys will see me back in Pauley (Pavilion) this season.”
Chiles is returning home from the Paris Olympics with a gold medal as a member of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team. She also won a bronze in the floor competition, adding to her team silver medal won in the Tokyo Olympics.
In college, she won the national title on floor and on uneven bars in 2023 as well as a silver medal in all-around. She took the 2024 season off to train in Texas alongside teammate Simone Biles.
On Wednesday, another American gymnast, Jade Carey, announced she would return to Oregon State.
She has three medals in Olympics competition — a team gold medal and a bronze on vault in Paris, and a gold in the floor exercise in Tokyo.
In NCAA championships, Carey, 24, has five medals — four silver and one bronze.
