San Jose doubled its lead at 12:32 of the second when Allan snapped a shot under Forsberg’s glove.

The Kings cut the lead to one with 1.3 seconds remaining in the second as Byfield beat Askarov short-side over the shoulder on a power play.

Los Angeles opened the scoring at 15:50 on a power play as Kempe one-timed a cross-ice feed from Panarin blocker side past Askarov for his first of the season.
