Kamilla Cardoso set a WNBA record on Friday night for the most field goals made without a miss and scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Chicago Sky past the visiting Portland Fire 124-94.

Cardoso, who hit all 13 of her shots form the field, set the mark on an open layup off a feed from Sydney Taylor at the 1:42 mark of the third quarter. That bucket keyed a 14-3 run that gave Chicago (6-12) an 88-75 lead going to the fourth quarter.

Cardoso also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds as the Sky beat Portland for the third time this year to sweep the season series. It was their second win over the Fire in three nights; Chicago cruised 101-78 on Wednesday evening.

Taylor added 29 points on just 11 field goal attempts, going 6 of 7 on 3-pointers and sinking all seven of her foul shots. Azura Stevens contributed 12 points and six assists, while Courtney Vandersloot chipped in 10 points and seven assists in her first game since tearing an ACL just over a year ago.

Bridget Carleton scored 20 points for Portland (8-12), going 8 of 8 at the foul line. Carla Leite made 9 of 10 free throw attempts in adding 18 points and Megan Gustafson hit for 13 points, but the Fire simply couldn’t hold the Sky down.

Chicago sank 45 of 68 attempts from the field, setting a new franchise record of 66.2%, and canned 15 of 28 3-pointers (53.6%). The hosts logged a league-record 38 assists, with Skylar Diggins dishing out a game-high nine.

Just like on Wednesday, the Sky went inside early and often against the league’s worst defensive team. They opened up a 29-17 first-quarter lead, although Portland rallied within 53-48 at halftime.

The Fire crawled within 74-72 late in the third quarter and had two wide open 3-pointers for the lead but Teja Oblak missed both. Cardoso responded with a 3-point play at the other end to start a game-deciding 36-8 run.

Taylor’s 3-pointer at the 6:35 mark of the fourth quarter put Chicago over 100 points for the second straight game.
