Teams at opposite ends of the standings have seen the tables turn over their last few games.

The previously surging Minnesota Lynx will look to snap a modest two-game skid on Wednesday when they complete a home-and-home series against the Connecticut Sun in Uncasville, Conn.

The Lynx (15-6) won 15 of their first 19 games this season before hitting a rough patch recently. They dropped a 90-89 decision on Monday in Minneapolis to the Sun (5-16), who reside in last place in the standings despite winning three of their last four games.

Brittney Griner scored a season-high 29 points, along with 10 rebounds, while Kennedy Burke added 16 points on Monday. The pair combined to make 17 of 22 from the floor.

“They know what we expect from them, to lead our team and the locker room on the floor,” Connecticut head coach Rachid Meziane said. “KB knocked down a lot of (shots), and we found BG in the paint. They played with a lot of composure.”

Thanks to the 6-foot-9 Griner and 6-5 Olivia Nelson-Ododa, the Sun enjoyed a 42-30 advantage on points in the paint. That also helped the Sun get to the foul line, although they made just 17 of 29 attempts.

Kayla McBride scored a season-best 28 points for the Lynx, who made just 10 of 30 tries from 3-point range.

“It’s about responding,” McBride said. “It’s the responsibility, and it’s the standard of our franchise. And it’s hard, it’s really hard, but that’s what’s worth it.”

Former Sun guard Courtney Williams recorded 23 points and a team-best nine rebounds for Minnesota, which played without point guard Olivia Miles. The star rookie was ruled out due to a right calf strain after starting the team’s first 20 games.

“We’re kind of taking the next step of imaging and that sort of thing, and trying to get a final answer (on) exactly what we’re dealing with,” Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve said.

Miles is averaging team bests in points (18.5) and assists (5.7) since being selected with the second overall pick of the 2026 WNBA Draft.
