The Las Vegas Raiders acquired offensive tackle Justin Herron from the New England Patriots, the Patriots confirmed Wednesday.
New England didn’t confirm the terms of the trade.
SI.com reported the Raiders will also receive a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft from the Patriots, who in turn will gain a sixth-round selection from Las Vegas in that same draft.
Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels is familiar with Herron from his stint as offensive coordinator of the Patriots.
“We’ll just let him come in and compete and acclimate to what we’re doing and then see where it goes,” McDaniels said. “But no expectations, other than just adding a player that we are familiar with that we feel like has some upside and looking forward to develop him.”
Herron, 26, started 10 of the 28 games in which he has played since being selected by New England in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Patriots also signed kicker Tristan Vizcaino to the practice squad. Vizcaino, 26, was released by New England in late August.
Vizcaino has played in seven NFL games — one for the San Francisco 49ers in 2020 and six for the Los Angeles Chargers last season. He has made 9 of 10 field-goal attempts and 12 of 17 extra-point attempts.
