Deshaun Watson Next Team Odds: Dolphins lead 12-pack

Deshaun Watson

The Miami Dolphins are widely considered the favorite to land quarterback Deshaun Watson if he’s traded by the Houston Texans, but one sportsbook is offering odds on a dozen potential NFL destinations.

MaximBet is offering the Dolphins at 3-2 (-150), with the Carolina Panthers owning the next-shortest odds to acquire Watson at 3-1. The Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos are each being offered at 5-1.

The 26-year-old would consider a trade to several teams ahead of the Nov. 2 trade deadline, according to a report Monday by ESPN. The Dolphins have been tied to rumors involving Watson since before the start of the regular season, with the Houston Chronicle reporting that a trade could be completed by the end of last week.

The paper reported that Watson nixed a deal to the Eagles, who are 2-5 with Jalen Hurts at quarterback. The Panthers are still in the NFC playoff picture at 3-4, with The Athletic reporting Carolina is interested in Watson due to the ongoing struggles of Sam Darnold, who was benched in Sunday’s loss.

The Broncos have lost four consecutive games after beginning the season 3-0. ESPN reported they could be an option, but Denver has yet to enter the bidding process. The Broncos acquired Teddy Bridgewater from Carolina over the offseason and also have Drew Lock.

If Watson is dealt to Miami, there is a chance he’s in uniform facing the Texans on Nov. 7.

Watson hasn’t played for the Texans this season. He stands accused of sexual assault by 22 women who have filed lawsuits. Police and the NFL have ongoing investigations.

Houston has reportedly sought three first-round selections and two second-round picks in any trade for Watson.

Though he is disgruntled with the Texans, Watson reported to training camp to avoid being fined $50,000 per day. He attends meetings but hasn’t played in any games.

Watson, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, has passed for 14,539 yards, 104 touchdowns and 36 interceptions in 54 games (53 starts) over four seasons. He established career highs of 4,823 yards and 33 touchdowns last season while throwing a career low seven interceptions.
