Leon Draisaitl scored twice, including the game-winner with 1:07 left in overtime Friday night, as the Edmonton Oilers edged the New York Islanders 2-1 in Elmont, N.Y.

Draisaitl, who opened the scoring in the second, has 49 goals, tops in the NHL, and 100 points. He has reached 100 points in six of the past seven seasons, missing only in the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 campaign.

Calvin Pickard made 24 saves as the Oilers snapped a two-game losing streak and won for the fourth time in 12 games (4-8-0).

Bo Horvat scored in the third for the Islanders, who have lost three straight (0-2-1) but inched within four points of the final Eastern Conference wild-card spot. New York goalie Ilya Sorokin recorded 33 saves.

Hurricanes 4, Red Wings 2

Frederik Andersen made 24 saves and Carolina boosted its winning streak to six games by beating Detroit in Raleigh, N.C.

Taylor Hall, Jack Roslovic and Jalen Chatfield scored for the Hurricanes before Eric Robinson added an empty-net goal. Jesperi Kotkaniemi had two assists. Andersen has recorded three consecutive victories following a personal four-game losing streak.

Alex DeBrincat and Michael Rasmussen scored for the Red Wings, who’ve lost seven of their last eight games. Petr Mrazek, a former Carolina goalie, stopped 28 shots.

Avalanche 4, Flames 2

Parker Kelly scored twice to lead red-hot Colorado to a road victory over Calgary.

Ryan Lindgren and Valeri Nichushkin also scored for the Avalanche, who sit third in the Central Division despite being on a 7-0-1 tear. Goaltender Scott Wedgewood made 22 saves for Colorado, which has won seven consecutive meetings between the rivals.

Blake Coleman and Jonathan Huberdeau replied for the Flames, who remain in the Western Conference’s second wild-card position. Dustin Wolf stopped 24 shots, including a Cale Makar penalty shot attempt midway through the second period when Colorado led 1-0.

Ducks 2, Predators 1

Alex Killorn scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period and Anaheim beat visiting Nashville.

Troy Terry also scored for the Ducks, who had lost four of five, and Lukas Dostal made 28 saves.

Jakub Vrana scored for the Predators, who had won four straight. Juuse Saros made 13 saves.

Jets 4, Stars 1

Winnipeg points leader Kyle Connor tallied two goals and an assist and Mark Scheifele picked up a trio of assists in the win over visiting Dallas.

Connor Hellebuyck stopped 24 of 25 shots he faced, while Dylan Samberg and Morgan Barron also scored for the Jets.

Mason Marchment collected the Stars’ lone goal with 3:49 remaining, and Jake Oettinger made 18 saves in the loss.

Kraken 4, Utah Hockey Club 2

Eeli Tolvanen had two goals and an assist as Seattle defeated visiting Utah.

Brandon Montour and Kaapo Kakko also scored and Jordan Eberle had two assists for Seattle, which improved to 2-0-0 on its three-game homestand. Philipp Grubauer made 23 saves for his first home win since defeating Utah 5-2 on Dec. 30.

Kevin Stenlund had a goal and an assist and Nick Schmaltz also tallied for Utah, which missed a chance to pull even with Vancouver and Calgary for the Western Conference’s second and final wild-card playoff spot. John Marino had two assists and Karel Vejmelka stopped 18 of 21 shots for Utah, which has lost three of its last four (1-1-2).
